Peter Andre

Here's the first shock for any of you non-obsessive Peter Andre fans out there. He's British! Born in Harrow to Greek-Cypriot parents, they actually bundled themselves and baby Peter down under when he was 10.
A normal life was lived (as much as one can when you're Peter Andre, obviously) and it wasn't until Peter decided to enter one of those pesky talent shows aged 16 that his road to super-stardom began.
Australian 'New Faces' saw Peter demonstrate his singing skills in front of a willing (or unwitting) audience. He must have been 'good' because one of the judges offered him a recording contract on the spot. The judge's name is Molly Meldrum if you'd like to send any hate mail on everyone's behalf.
After having what they like to call in the industry 'a string of hits', Andre was unleashed on UK music lovers. His single, 'Mysterious Girl' managed to reach number two in the charts and give him the impression that people actually had taste. They didn't.
All good things come to an end, and Peter shuffled back to Australia with his tail between his legs when his popularity dried up. And that was that, the end of the story. Or so we thought...
Peter Andre was announced as one of the contestants on ITV's 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!' for the 2004 series and from there he somehow managed to A) Get together with Jordan and B) scrape another 'hit single' for a song called Insania which nobody really liked but felt compelled to buy because they saw it on TV.
Peter and Jordan (or Katie Price, if you prefer) got married, had a lovely little family and decided ITV2 viewers should be treated to several programmes featuring them, including their cringe-inducing chat show.
But if you followed their story you'll know things didn't end well for the pair. They announced they were going their seperate ways in spring 2009 and that was that - battle lines drawn. Where were you when you decided if you were Team Andre or Team Jordan? It's like the Angelina/Aniston saga all over again and I don't think we can handle it!
Peter appeared on the Chris Moyles show in July 2009 to talk about what happened with Jordan, but did the brilliant politician's trick of not actually telling anybody anything. And so there we have it. Will Peter go and set up shop in Cyprus? We think not, he's got a new single to plug...
